Z-Factor's Dance Party is considered to be the very first full length house record, but because of the rarity of the original Mitchbal pressing (only 500 pressed in 1984) most of us haven't had the chance to truly appreciate this important recording on vinyl until now. The band was birthed in Chicago around 1982 (lead by a young Jesse Saunders and Vince Lawrence) and were creating diverse "disco" tracks influenced by the European synth-driven disco, italo, and heavy 808 rhythms of Hot Mix 5's WBMX mix shows at the time. The end result was the stuff that the "house" sound came from. Hear for yourself the classics "I Am The DJ" and "Fantasy" with Screamin' Rachel, the driving sounds of "Fast Cars" and "My Ride ," and the slow burning "Thorn." The Numero Group has finally given the album a repressing that it deserves - crispy and clean sleeve with matching yellow vinyl. 7 tracks total, recommended.
