The band takes on \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=The+Cure\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Cure's\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e classic \"Friday I'm In Love,\" and oldies like \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Hank+Williams\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHank Williams'\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e \"I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry\" and \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Darlene+McCrea\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDarlene McCrea's\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e \"My Heart's Not In It.\" They turn to some of their 80s and 90s indie rock peers as well, rendering beautiful versions of songs from Louisville's \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Antietam\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAntietam\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, Hoboken hero the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Special+Pillow\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSpecial Pillow\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, and Ohio outfit \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Great+Plains\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGreat Plains\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e. When they cover themselves their song selection does not allow much room for interpretation. \u003ci\u003ePopular Songs'\u003c\/i\u003e \"All Your Secrets\" and \u003ci\u003eElectr-o-Pura\u003c\/i\u003e deep cut \"The Ballad of Red Buckets\" were already mellow enough. However, \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/products\/yo-la-tengo-i-can-hear-the-heart-beating-as-one-vinyl-2lp\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eI Can Hear the Heart Beating as One's\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e churning centerpiece, \"Deeper Into the Movies,\" gets a sleepy remake that strips the song down to its core.
