While not drastically different from the direction of previous releases, \u003ci\u003eTopiary\u003c\/i\u003e puts more emphasis on \u003cstrong\u003eLiz Wendelbo's\u003c\/strong\u003e vocals. \u003cstrong\u003eSean McBride\u003c\/strong\u003e (aka \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Martial+Canterel\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Martial Canterel\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMartial Canterel\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e) builds dense compositions of analog synths and drum machines that provide the perfect backing. The sound is more lush than previous releases, the mix making space for all of the elements the duo brings to their songs. \"Virtues And Vice\" evinces a more synthetic \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=Broadcast\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Broadcast\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBroadcast\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, while \"Palms\" heads in a more electro direction.
