In the latter half of the 80’s, as Electronic music spread across the globe, \u003cstrong\u003eRebeles\u003c\/strong\u003e was an ardent champion of the Soca \/ Calypso sound. Also known as \u003cstrong\u003eD’ Rebel’s Band\u003c\/strong\u003e and led by St Vincentian band-leader and trombonist \u003cstrong\u003eDenniston Young\u003c\/strong\u003e, the group were the 1980s house band for one of the largest Caribbean labels, Strakers Records (based in Brooklyn). This is an officially licensed reissue courtesy of the globally-oriented Soundways Records, and arrives just in time for those last few hands-in-the-air summer dance parties. Includes a remixed \"Club Version\" on the flip. This 12” teases a big compilation of Soca crossover tracks due later this year, we can hardly wait. This single is pressed on heavyweight vinyl and is packaged in a die-cut picture sleeve.
