Their 2014 self-titled album was a major creative breakthrough, and they’ve managed to keep it fresh while persevering through a name change, label drama, a collective near-death experience and the obstacles of self-releasing; demonstrating just how far they’ve come - and how far they’re willing to go - straight out the gate on the 2-step electro swang of “Keep On Mixing,” channeling the slickness of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Basement+Jaxx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBasement Jaxx\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003cem\u003eFever\u003c\/em\u003e-era \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Kylie+Minogue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKylie Minogue\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e on their indictment of racial intolerance. Short and sweet at just 9 tracks, with almost nothing indicating this is the same band that did “Meet The Frownies” or \u003cem\u003eColor Your Life\u003c\/em\u003e; \u003cem\u003eSalt\u003c\/em\u003e sees the band playing nine distinct hands which demonstrate their ability to move freely between vibes and sounds, all to intoxicating effect. The dreamy jazz of “Alien FM” makes great use of \u003cstrong\u003ePablo Eluchans\u003c\/strong\u003e’ superior drumming, casually sprinkled with moody piano chords, harp licks and atmospheric pads. “Taste In Movies” sees frontwoman \u003cstrong\u003eAndrea Estella\u003c\/strong\u003e joined by guitarist \/ saxophonist \/ sometimes vocalist \u003cstrong\u003eEric Cardona\u003c\/strong\u003e over an airy afrobeat shuffle. Elsewhere, on \"Tops And Bottoms,\" \u003cstrong\u003eEstella\u003c\/strong\u003e vents ludicrous (but extremely relatable) sartorial frustrations through her signature robot filter over an immaculate boogie track. Album coda “Set Me Free” sees the band further stretching their sound palette with 8 minutes of slow-lurching dubwise trip-hop à la \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=Rhythm%20%26%20Sound\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Rhythm%20%26%20Sound%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRhythm \u0026amp; Sound\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Massive+Attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMassive Attack\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e.
