She remained thoroughly underground until the release of \u003cem\u003eThe Lamb\u003c\/em\u003e on (\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=sub+pop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003eSub Pop\u003c\/a\u003e imprint) \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=hardly+art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003eHardly Art\u003c\/a\u003e in 2018, which was universally praised and gained her many new fans. Sleepyhead was originally self-released on super limited cassette format in 2016, but Hardly Art is giving it a well-deserved reissue with new cover artwork. Unlike \u003cem\u003eThe Lamb\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eSleepyhead\u003c\/em\u003e is raw, direct, and free of overdubs and overthought. Recorded over the span of five days during a typically frigid Midwestern winter, it was a promising first step from a young talent that deserves a thoughtful listen.
