In spite of the circumstances, Riggins has done a good job of making the finished product sound like a coherent album.  The \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=common\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"common\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCommon\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\/\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=d%27angelo\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"d'angelo\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eD'Angelo\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e collab \"So Far To Go\" is about as beautiful a Jay Dee beat as I've heard, definitely some keep-the-instro-on-repeat-and-stare-at-the-clouds shit.  The ladies will also love \"Dime Piece,\" which reuses an old \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=dwele\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"dwele\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDwele\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e vocal (from \"Angel,\" I think), but don't get worried, in classic Dilla style, there's some nasty gully grooves to balance the pretty stuff out. Check \"Jungle Love\" where he swings chains--yes, chains--for the hi-hat, or the brutal instrumental \"Body Movin'.\" Longtime homey \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=black+thought\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"black thought\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBlack Thought\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e provides lyrical heat on another crackling beat (\"Love Movin'\") and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?q=monch\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"pharaoh monch\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePharoahe Monch\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e finally gets a chance to rip over a Dilla treat on \"Love Jones.\" More beats from the vaults will inevitably be released in years to come, but \u003cem\u003eThe Shining\u003c\/em\u003e is a fitting final chapter to the quiet legend's life.
