It would be \u003cstrong\u003eGuided By Voices\u003c\/strong\u003e’ last session for indie powerhouse \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Matador\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003eMatador\u003c\/a\u003e before jumping ship to the majors, only to come crawling back in 2002 for \u003cem\u003eUniversal Truths And Cycles\u003c\/em\u003e. Production-wise, the album is a departure from the comparatively lo-fi sound of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Under+The+Bushes+Under+The+Stars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eUnder The Bushes Under The Stars\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003cem\u003eTonics \u0026amp; Twisted Chasers\u003c\/em\u003e from the previous year. “I Am A Tree” will be the standout to casual \u003cstrong\u003eGBV\u003c\/strong\u003e fans here, but be sure to check out “Not Behind The Fighter Jet,” “Bulldog Skin” and “Jane Of The Waking Universe” as well.
