With 2003's \u003cem\u003eThe Ownerz\u003c\/em\u003e, the hiatus can be forgiven but you still wonder where all the time went. While this is a good album by any standard, it's the group's least consistent LP since \u003cem\u003eNo More Mr. Nice Guy\u003c\/em\u003e, with too many \"hip-hop is bullshit\" rants and too few moments of pure magic that songs like \"You Know My Steez\" and \"Mass Appeal\" inspire. I'd say at least they still know how to punch you in the gut though (the good way). The album kicks off lovely with \"Put Up Or Shut Up,\" a pugilistic pairing between \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/turntablelab.mom\/search?q=guru\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGuru\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and Boston's \u003cstrong\u003eKrumbsnatcha\u003c\/strong\u003e. \"Rite Where You Stand,\" is easily one of the best cuts here with \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/turntablelab.mom\/search?q=premier\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePremier's\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e head puncturing beat. Likewise, the group's first single, \"Skillz\" holds up as one of the album's certifiable classics (plus, you can dance to its uptempo rhythm). Guru scores one of the most brilliant songs in his long career on \"Riot Akt,\" regarded as the album's best track. Personally, I'm more up into \"Same Team, No Games,\" some classic Primo head-nod shit that brings on newcomers the \u003cstrong\u003eNYG'z\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eH. Stax\u003c\/strong\u003e.
