Fast forward a week later, and I’m DJing at Panorama festival in NYC… I played this track, and, out of nowhere, bounding to the front of the stage were a brother and sister duo screaming ‘this is our dad!’ Well that’s how this all started!!” If you were Shepherd, how could you not reissue this tune after an experience like that? It’s up there with any of Blackman’s best work, and better than anything I’ve heard on Melodies International in a while. Also shout to Blackman’s kids, they seem sick as hell. Remastered and cut in both stereo and mono for this 7” release, housed in die-cut company sleeve with an admittedly neat 14” foldout poster.
