The title track mashes the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=lyn+collins+think+\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003eThink break\u003c\/a\u003e against metallic percussion loops, ethereal strings and vocals sampled from a recording of \u003cstrong\u003eMC GQ\u003c\/strong\u003e toasting over Hype’s set at AWOL the year before (“wheel and come again please please please”). “Dub Plate Fever” is exactly what it sounds like; standard-issue ’94 ragga flex peppered with rocksteady brass and Amen \u0026amp; Scottie breaks sharing the heavy workload. The sleeper pick, though, is “Floating Kill,” the most subtle and restrained cut of the three but executed with the deadliest precision. Minor-key dread meets rolling breaks and 20K leagues-deep bass, with more dancehall artifacts (“kill sound, you waan hear tune?”) woven into eerie strings and a short snippet of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=larry%20heard%20the%20it\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22The%20It%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe It\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e (\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Larry+Heard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLarry Heard\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e)’s \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=larry%20heard%20the%20it\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22The%20It%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e“Donnie”\u003c\/a\u003e for good measure.
