Taking in standard canonical influences like \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=eminem\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEminem\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e (“Outside”) and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=kanye+west\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKanye West\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e alongside more contemporary artists, Glover’s songs are relentlessly reflective, with verses addressing his own race and sexuality punctuated by cheeky punchlines (“I’ve seen it all like I’m \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Mayer\u003c\/strong\u003e’s penis hole”) to let you know he’s not taking himself too seriously. “Bonfire” sounds directly influenced by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=lil+wayne\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWeezy\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e’s \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=a%20milli\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Lil%20Wayne%22%20OR%20Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22James%20Blake%22\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e“A Milli”\u003c\/a\u003e, and Glover’s aggressive rap voice is a little too similar to \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=tyler+the+creator\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eTyler The Creator\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e’s, but he’s actually not a bad singer: check him flexing on the mellow ballad “Letter Home” (eerily, his singing voice reminds us of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=frank+ocean\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFrank Ocean\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e).
