While their sarcastic wit has taken a bit of a backseat, this results in a tone that is less of a shout and more of a conversation. “Ann’s Jam” is bright alt-rock chords and basketball-dribble snares with Shapiro’s voice in the eye of the storm (or should we say sun shower?). “It Takes Time” is a meditative wall of sound, a deft use of volume, distortion, and guitar interplay giving a sorta \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/products\/television-marquee-moon-colored-vinyl-vinyl-2lp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003ci\u003eMarquee Moon\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e vibe. “Split” is acoustic grit and growl, twangy acoustic guitar grounding eerie synths and falsetto vocals.
