Not gonna lie, we weren’t really dying to have this, but that’s only because we’re still not sick of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/products\/carla-dal-forno-you-know-what-its-like-vinyl-lp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eYou Know What It’s Like\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e - one of those records that continues to feel fresh despite being 3+ years old and sounding way older - plus \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Carla+Dal+Forno\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCarla\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e slipped out a killer albeit super weird and slippery LP with her \u003cstrong\u003eF Ingers\u003c\/strong\u003e project in the time since. This one’s more straightforwardly pop than \u003cem\u003eYou Know\u003c\/em\u003e but still firmly rooted in witchy art rock and dubwise post-kraut experimental traditions. The songs are presented with newfound sonic clarity; even the instrumental passages are more concise, no more chewed up tape loops and waterlogged murk. Opener “No Trace” gets right to the point with Carla’s all-business falsetto floating over a catchy picked bassline and MIDI flute stabs. Lead single “So Much Better” finds her even more comfortable, taunting her former lover: “so if i think about the time we spent together \/ I’m happy that you’re still the same and I am so much better.” \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Augustus+Pablo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAugustus Pablo\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e meets \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Midori+Takada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMidori Takada\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e on “Leaving For Japan”; the funereal “Heart Of Hearts” instrumental and soaring \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=Nico\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Nico%22%20OR%20Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22The%20Velvet%20Underground%22%20OR%20Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22The%20Velvet%20Underground%20%26%20Nico%22%20OR%20Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Velvet%20Underground%22%20OR%20Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Velvet%20Underground%20%26%20Nico%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNico\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e-in-space “Took A Long Time” are other high water marks.
