Williams initially got in touch with \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Beck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBeck\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e to work on a \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=N.E.R.D.\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22N.E.R.D%22%20OR%20Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22N.E.R.D.%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eN.E.R.D.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e album, but Beck “seized the moment” during a surge of inspiration directly following completion of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=Colors\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Beck%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eColors\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and the pair ended up recording a body of work together. Going off the album cover, it seems Beck spent plenty of time palling around Ura-Harajuku with Williams and Nigo, too. Despite Williams’ inimitable drum programming and crooned falsetto ad libs, the record is pure Beck through and through, effortlessly pivoting from lush synthesizer reveries (“Hyperlife”) to bluesy rock \u0026amp; roll singalongs (“Saw Lightning”) with Hansen’s soulful signature coarsing throughout. \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Sky+Ferreira\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSky Ferreira\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eCole M.
