Sonically, it’s a big step up from their lower fidelity \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/collections\/all\/products\/beach-house-beach-house-lp\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eself-titled\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/collections\/all\/products\/beach-house-devotion-2lp\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eDevotion\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e records, with \u003cstrong\u003eVictoria Legrand\u003c\/strong\u003e’s vocals mixed up front-and-center, showcasing her growth in lyricism. However, it’s not nearly as studio polished as \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=article%2Cpage%2Cproduct\u0026amp;q=Beach+House+Bloom\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eBloom\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e or \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/products\/beach-house-depression-cherry-vinyl-lp\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eDepression Cherry\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e; still capturing the raw minimalism of their earlier work. Off the bat, the album starts with fan favorites “Zebra” and “Silver Soul,” the latter of which was sampled in \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=article%2Cpage%2Cproduct\u0026amp;q=Kendrick+Lamar\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKendrick Lamar\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e’s “Money Trees.” The lead singles “Norway” and “Used to Be” also bless side A, although I will say that “Walk in the Park” is a better representation of the direction they were moving in at this time.
