On \u003cem\u003eRomaplasm\u003c\/em\u003e, Wiesenfeld dons his most well-known guise for song-oriented projects: \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?\u0026amp;q=Baths\u0026amp;filter=Brand\/Manufacturer\/Artist_fq:%22Baths%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBaths\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e. His third full-length for \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Anticon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003eAnticon\u003c\/a\u003e attempts to tackle classic Romanticism, but on Will’s own terms: “It’s about taking ideas as far as you can even if they don’t work out. I’m trying to capture feelings that might be more obscure when translated to music, but always seem to resonate with me.” Aesthetically, very little remains from \u003cstrong\u003eBaths\u003c\/strong\u003e’ 2010 Anticon debut \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Cerulean\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eCerulean\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, which juxtaposed Will’s hyper-emotive vocals with glitchy beats inspired by L.A.’s Low End Theory scene (with a few exceptions: the woozy “Human Bog” and strobelit rave of “Adam Copies;” two of the record’s most interesting tracks). Instead, the beats on \u003cem\u003eRomaplasm\u003c\/em\u003e sound largely informed by Will’s work as \u003cstrong\u003eGeotic\u003c\/strong\u003e: slinky house beats interspersed with acoustic guitar and saccharine melodies, albeit without any deliberate parallels: “In making this record, I wanted to be as self indulgent as possible.
