Russell’s partner \u003cstrong\u003eTom Lee\u003c\/strong\u003e and Audika Records have spent the last couple decades or so constructing records from endless hours-long sessions, improvisations, and home-recorded cassettes. \u003cem\u003eIowa Dream\u003c\/em\u003e is nineteen new Russell compositions, his distinct songwriting embellished by downtown NYC legends including \u003cstrong\u003eErnie Brooks\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eRhys Chatham\u003c\/strong\u003e,\u003cstrong\u003e Peter Gordon\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong\u003eDavid Van Tieghem\u003c\/strong\u003e. Contemporary avant-garde composer \u003cstrong\u003ePeter Broderick\u003c\/strong\u003e also contributes audio restoration and mixing to several nearly finished songs. This collection includes demos originally recorded for Mercury Records, folk-style songs written in California in the early 70’s, and pop songs that hint at Russell’s devotion to the discos of NYC. Also includes the long-awaited “You Did It Yourself”, previously only heard in a brief clip in the 2008 documentary \u003cem\u003eWild Combination\u003c\/em\u003e.
