Five chapters trace the genre from its mid-1960s awakening through its golden age to the artists reimagining it today, with rarity scores, collector’s checkboxes and full-color original artwork throughout. The 1960s saw radical changes in jazz, as musicians sought new approaches to the form amid political turmoil and rising cultural consciousness. Artists like Sun Ra, Pharoah Sanders, and Alice and John Coltrane built a creative foundation emphasizing peace, universality, devotion, and cosmic awareness through music. Featuring John Coltrane, Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Sun Ra, and more, the book includes 12 essential compilations, 27 guest selector lists from DJs, musicians, scholars, and industry figures, and an extended interview with Amir Abdullah and Manu Boubli. Contributions from influential voices including Gilles Peterson, King Britt, and Matthew Halsall offer insight into the personal connections these records continue to inspire." - Dust & Grooves

soft cover w/ die-cut cover window

240 pages

2500 Copies (First Edition)

dimensions: 5.8" × 8.3"

weight: 1 lb

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0105/4542/files/ADKq_NYVW2CkVLhXMsSgLmHXus1ZvzV0aZfN7FXvtFOPFFUUbshfMHvBLWKgY0H7n5yqajdujM_GM0OpEKGV5YHOwzcRV7DcuAA1WpoRBI-fV_Yhbkxu6yUT2izV7PVNxhup7AMjMUvsbZtULveZhU00F4mbAteTJ8gHAbRj2gXDkN9yROBT1Q.jpg?v=1792772133
https://www.turntablelab.mom/products/amir-abdullah-manu-boubli-spiritual-cosmic-jazz-vinyl-digest-1-book
