Also includes the Horny Mix with more live horn-play, and the very interesting Yellow Mix which turns the focus towards the bass and adds some bluesy harmonica. Tracks like “Miura” (named #1 track of the decade by Resident Advisor), “Atmosphrique” (the first Metro Area track ever recorded) and “Orange Alert” remain sure shots in any techno, house or disco set to this day. In a time when funk was extremely uncool (peak electroclash) and the house scene was littered with cheesy vocals and post-\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Daft+Punk\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDaft Punk\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e filter tracks, Geist \u0026amp; Jesrani turned in something that was subtle, slow and restrained, especially in comparison to what would follow in its wake (blog house). Jaar explains: \"I started making most of the music that is found on \u003ci\u003ePomegranates\u003c\/i\u003e before I had seen the movie or was aware of its existence.\" He had created \"a weird collage of ambient music\" over about a two-year period. The sought after \"Paris Dub 1\" and \"Paris Dub 2\" are followed up with the new, and just as good, \"Paris Dub 3.\" They edge towards a more Chicago house-inspired sound with the emotional and timeless \"Lovin U (Ahh Shit).\" With one listen it's easy to see why the hype is there. Real EBM, one for the heads. Get your grubby mitts on this one before you're scouring Discogs in hope of a fair price.
