No worries if you don't speak French: Tellier sings in English, too, and anyway the vibes from these songs tell you all you need know about the lyrical content. This is like \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Serge+Gainsbourg\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSerge Gainsbourg\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e for the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.turntablelab.mom\/search?type=product\u0026amp;q=Ed+Banger\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eEd Banger\u003c\/a\u003e set; a poster of a sexy girl in a bikini wearing a robot helmet on an otherwise bare flat wall. Barely a dud on here, with Tellier proving once again that he's the secret genius of the Parisian scene. Check out \"Kilometer,\" \"Sexual Sportswear,\" \"Divine,\" \"Elle,\" \"Pomme\" or \"Manty.\" There may not be another epic setpiece like \"La Ritournelle\" here, but that's a small sacrifice for one of Tellier's strongest albums to date. 11 tracks. Nicolas and JB (aka AIR) were definitely ahead of their time, combining elements from Burt Bacharach and Serge Gainsbourg, ambient, lounge, new wave, disco and lots of synthesizers, into one unique musical style paving the way for similar-minded artists like Sebastien Tellier. Just take a listen the masterfully crafted chill moods - \"La Femme D'Argent,\" \"Talisman,\" \"All I Need,\" and \"Sexy Boy,\" \"Le Voyage De Penelope,\" and \"Remember.\" The whole album really goes down real easy - it's that smooth. If you want some corny anthem shit just go buy a Junior Senior or Scissor Sisters record and let the Daft guys have a little artistic expression. That being said, there are still some really addictive songs amongst the ten here. \"Human After All\" opens things up in familiar territory with the vocoders, big stadium drums and what not, while \"Television Rules The Nation\" rocks slow and steady at under 115bpm. The album's most satisfying moments come from the more intimate songs like \"Make Love\" and \"Emotion\" though, soft touch production that feels a little like Air (in the best possible way).
